Historic house and over 20 acres of garden and parkland, home of the 18thC naturalist, Gilbert White, author of `The Natural History of Selborne'. Furnished rooms, original manuscript, beautifully embroidered bed hangings. Exhibitions of Frank Oates, Victorian explorer and Captain Laurence Oates, hero of Scott's ill-fated expedition to the South Pole.
Open Tuesday - Sunday 11am-5pm 1st January - 24th December.

Nearest major road is A3. Selborne is on the B3006 from Alton to the A3. The village car park is behind the Selborne Arms and to reach the house and museum, turn left on leaving the car park and continue along the High Street. The house is on the left-hand side.
Nearest station is Alton or Liss. Limited bus service or taxi, book return journey.
