Hampshire's countryside has several museums paying tribute to the county's military heritage, including the Aldershot Military Museum, which traces the military and aviation history of Aldershot and Farnborough.
The Museum of Army Flying at Middle Wallop near Stockbridge houses a unique collection of aviation history, with kites, gliders, aeroplanes and helicopters, while the Army Physical Training Corps Museum at Aldershot outlines the important role played by physical training during two World Wars.
The Museum of Army Chaplaincy at Amport houses the archives and historical relics of the Royal Army Chaplains' Department. Visitors to the County can also explore the history of military encampments at Bordon Garrison.
Other military connections in Hampshire's Countryside include Odiham Castle, Danebury Hill Fort and Whitehill/ Bordon, a centre of military importance since 1863.
